Top 5 games to get the most out of DLSS 3 [updated 2023]

If you’re buying a new gaming PC that houses the monster RTX 40-series, or you’re upgrading to the new tech, then you will be eager to find out which games you should be playing first. Taking advantage of DLSS 3 and Ray Tracing, and a whole load more CUDA cores, the RTX 40-series is packed with specifications to make your eyes water.

Our recent article on DLSS 3 looked at the many benefits of the new AI technology, offering gamers much smoother visuals and a temporally increased framerate that destroys native resolution and DLSS 2 benchmarks. These games are all compatible with DLSS 3, and will showcase the new tech perfectly.

Top 5 games with DLSS 3

Want to see what the RTX 40-series can do? These games put DLSS 3 front and centre, alongside Ray Tracing and higher framerates thanks to the new horsepower of the RTX 4080 and RTX 4090. So, make sure you’ve got these titles in your game library when you buy your new gaming PC!

So, in no particular order…

F1 22

Top 5 Games for DLSS 3 - F1 2022

If you feel the need for speed, then F1 22 is where it’s at. You might not have time to take in your surroundings, hurtling around tracks all over the world at triple digits, but you may at least enjoy the Ray Traced visuals in a replay.

DLSS 3 will absolutely enhance the sheer speed of F1 22, which is already highly optimised with NVIDIA graphics, allowing you to experience all the thrills of driving the world’s most advanced cars. The RTX 40-series matches well beyond the system requirements for F1 22.

Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered

Following the demo from Digital Foundry, which we discussed in our other article – What is DLSS 3 and is it worth it? – much has been talked about in Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered.

Now somewhat of a poster child for the next-gen Ray Tracing and DLSS 3, the game doesn’t just offer smooth visuals while you’re leaping from building to building, attached by a thread. As we saw, the game is enhanced in every aspect – from walking around the open world to fighting criminals in hopes of saving the city.

DLSS 3 is perfect for the gameplay speed and enjoying beautiful city views as you swoop around the city, with shadows, characters, vehicles and more all brought into silky smooth motion.

Microsoft Flight Simulator

The serene and slow-burning gameplay of Microsoft Flight Simulator is juxtaposed against the monster GPU you need to enjoy it at full spec. Whilst the game is made to put the RTX 30-series to the test, the RTX 40-series seems to have been designed for such workloads, with early benchmarks showing over 90 FPS with all settings ramped up to Ultra. Against the RTX 3090 Ti, this is a 20 FPS increase.

DLSS 3 helps smooth out the animations, which are already highly optimised for NVIDIA hardware, offering virtual pilots a more immersive and wholly enhanced experience.

Naraka: Bladepoint

Next, we have one of the most interesting multiplayer battle games of the last few years: Naraka: Bladepoint. This game is a stunning, yet frantic slash-em-up with magic elements that chew the screen. The system requirements for Naraka: Bladepoint are not for lower-tier PCs, as we discussed in an earlier article.

The Intel Core i5-10400F 2.90 GHz and Nvidia GeForce RTX 3060 in combination has the beans to get you to the ULTRA graphics settings in Nakara. Well over the 60 FPS magic spot.” – Chillblast

With DLSS 3 and the might of either the RTX 4080 or RTX 4090, you will not be experiencing any of the lag that is plaguing many gamers that are battling away with a lower spec.

Hogwarts Legacy

To experience this new adventure in the wizarding world, you would be doing yourself a disservice if you did not play the game with a degree of cinematic flair. With faithfully represented locations from the books and films, Hogwarts Legacy offers fans and gamers a visually delicious and utterly spellbinding journey through Rowling’s universe.

The high-specification RTX 40-series will enable players to experience a thrilling ride astride their Hippogriff or zip around on their broom amid the towers of Hogwarts with careless abandon, and enjoy the smoothest of animations to boot.

DLSS 3 games you can play right now

The rest of the line-up is not to be sniffed at, either. There are dozens of games and apps you can enjoy right now with DLSS 3 and discover the amazing performance of the RTX 40-series. Here they are:

Backwards Compatibility

Even though DLSS 3 technology is limited to the newest generation of Nvidia’s 40 series GPUs and above, Nvidia has said that DLSS 3 games will be backwards compatible.

This means that those without the newest graphics cards can still play games that release with DLSS 3 baked in as they will be playable using DLSS 2 technology. However, they just won’t be able to make use of the DLSS 3 features like Frame Interpolation which, unfortunately, is what makes it stand out against the older DLSS 2 tech.

What about DLSS 2?

For those with DLSS 2 cards and older, there are 383 games and apps that are currently supported, with even more games rumoured to be getting DLSS patches in the near future.

As more games are added to both the DLSS 3 and DLSS 2 roster, we hope to follow up on this article and keep you updated!
